Riaad busts the myth that aborted babies were used in the development of the vaccine, as he explains, it’s a complicated process that involves a lot of oversight, scientific processes and the pressure under global watchdog eyes to do so ethically and safely. The rumour might have begun because there are “Historical Cell Lines”, which means that some vaccines used lab-grown cells derived from fetal cells obtained in the 1970s and 1980s for testing purposes. These are well-established cell lines, not new fetal tissue.
